Christmas and New year Giveaway !!

Hey folks ! Christmas is nearby and the joy is bursting from every corner of this Country. Every store to be precise ! Its a jolly time, with London beaming like a bride moving towards the Alter. I am packing up to fly to my land soon, and leaving all the cold and chills behind. And before I say Sayonara to the blog for a month, as a token of appreciation and love that my readers have given me I wanted to announce this giveaway :)
People living in  north of the UK must have heard of Prashad, a restaurant famous for its authentic Indian and fusion dishes. They are a passionate, family run restaurant  which uses authentic recipes and methods handed down from generations, along with new and creative ideas conjured up by their highly experienced chefs. It was started by Kaushy and Mohan Patel 22 years ago, and since then it has grown from a small deli to a 60+ seat restaurant, which has gained recognition from Gordon Ramsay as Finalists on Channel 4’s Ramsay’s Best Restaurant 2010, been named in The Michelin Guide and The Good Food Guide, won numerous awards including Yorkshire Life Chef of the Year and Morrison's Magazine Great Grub Award et al.

Since not everyone can visit this highly acclaimed restaurant,  you can learn the chef’s own secrets and recreate the Prashad magic at home with Kaushy’s highly acclaimed, award winning cookbook Prashad ! And thats what this giveaway is about :)

I am extremely delighted to announce this event and giveaway of this book "Prashad"  to my readers. The word "Prashad"-  a material substance of food that is a religious offering in both Hinduism and Sikhism, which is consumed by worshipers. Literally, a gracious gift to the God.

I skimmed through the book when I recieved my copy from Bobby, the owner. And let me tell you, it is a very well thought cookbook with organised chapters and tempting pictures.  The book starts with Kaushy telling us all about her childhood in India and her love of cooking which was heavily influenced by her grandmother. She describes her move to England and the early days of Prashad as a small deli right up to the brilliant family run business it is today. This is followed by a list of important ingredients and helpful tips. I like how Kaushy encourages readers to substitute other ingredients if those she suggests are difficult to find. She also offers alternatives for hard to find ingredients so that you don’t need to skip a recipe just because you happen to live somewhere where fresh fenugreek leaves simply aren’t available.
66 of the 112 recipes in this book are already suitable for vegans, and the remaining are easily modified. There are plenty of photos, detailed descriptions and each recipe is clearly marked with it's suitability for various dietary requirements. From eye-catching starters to delicious street snacks, from amazing main courses to the most incredible side dishes, pickles, chutneys, breads, drinks and sweets, you are going to find some of the best Indian recipes you’ve ever tried in Prashad!

  19. This place is absolutely gorgeous, beautiful and stunning. Even though a few Halls are equally appealing and fascinating in their history, acoustics, and aesthetics, I'm tempted to still give this place a slight edge.
