Be My Guest Jabeen : Agar Agar China Grass Pudding

This month my Guest of Honor is Jabeen, a lovely lady with a sweet sa Blog. The first thing that captures your view is the Title of her Blog Come Lets Eat - Jabeen's Corner. The very first sight of her blog is so peaceful and captivating that you have to go and explore whats inside.

Lets talk about her first . Basically from  Chennai and currently staying in San Francisco, US, Jabeen is a knowledgeable person qualified with a degree in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. To top it, she volunteers there in non-profit Organization. Yes, she is also a normal gal like us and loves to shop till drop :) Her interest in reading is reflected by her choice of Psychological books. She credits her success to her fellow bloggers and her lovely husband who, as a matter of fact keeps track of all her events ( Good God bless !! Touch Wood )

Her own post closest to her heart is this Egg Pudding since this is the very first dessert she tried after her marriage. Off course she is a big foodie ( like all of us ) and adores Biryani of any kind. Her other favorites are Chicken Tikka Masala, Naan and Fried Rice.. Who would believe this lovely lady started with her cooking only after marriage.

Well, my personal favorites from her are:
Sooji Halwa
Garlic Pull Apart Rolls
Puran Poli
Banana Pancakes
Ven Pongal

I have bookmarked them all and will them one by one surely :) Below is the recipe she has specially sent with all her love and passion. Lets enjoy now ladies :)

Ingredients:
China Grass - 200 gms
Condensed Milk - 1 [4oz] can
Milk - 4 cups [whole milk]
Water - 1 cup
Sugar - 3 tbsp
Almonds / Pistachios - 5 tbsp [sliced]
Rose Essence - 3 drops [or]
Cardamom Powder - 2 pinch

Pre Preparation
●Cut China grass in small pieces [1/2 pinch maybe] and soak in water for 1-2 hours . [atleast
an hour]
●Mix milk, condensed milk, essence / cardamom powder in a mixing bowl until all the
condensed milk dissolves completely.
●Slice Almonds and Pistachios for garnishing in the end.

Preparation
●Cook the soaked china grass along with the water and sugar on low medium heat. Do
not let the china grass mixture boil until it all dissolves and there are no threads in the
solution. This step might take a while - maybe 15 - 30 mins.. then let it boil for 2-3 mins
and Immediately pour the mixture into the milk solution that is been already prepared
and mix the solution very well for a min or so until everything is mixed very well..
●Pour the mixture in a serving bowl and garnish / throw the sliced nuts on top.

Tips
1] When boiling the china grass mixture, be sure that it dissolves completely. So, we would get
a smooth texture finally.
2] Can add any variety nuts of your choice for garnish.
