Mangoes.. King of fruits... Indeed !!
When I was in India, every summers, mangoes were the only 'Sahara' to bear the heat. They were the only motivation factor and when every morning, mumma used to give us mango shake.. It was a perfect energy booster for us kids. For some reason, in Delhi and suburbs near by, Mango Lassi is not famous. I only got to know about Mango lassi when I came to the UK.
So, here are both the versions for the people who are unfortunate like me and have not tasted wither of the delicacies. I have made some variations in each one of them so you can play with them as you like. Its utter delight in every way. :D
Mango Shake :
Ingrediants : This recipe serves 4
1. Fresh Pulp of 2 mangoes
2. 1/2 cup sugar ( or sugarfree )
3. 3 Cups of Milk ( I used skimmed )
4. Now, here you can run your imagination .. You can use either of the following things:
A. 3-4 strands of Saffron dipped in 1 tsp of Milk
B. 1 Banana ( If you are a banana lover, you will love this
C. 1/2 glass of papaya juice / pinapple juice
D. Vanilla Essence / Mango Essence
E. A pinch of Cardamom powder
F. Ice Cream
5. Ice as per you like
I used option A... that is 4 strands of saffron dipped in 1 tsp of milk for 5 min and then topping the Mango shake with it..
Method:
1. Run the mango pulp with Sugar in the blender first .
2. Add Milk and any other additions you prefer from the list above.
3. Blend everything together...
Aish :D :D
Mango Lassi :
Ingredients : Serves 4
1. Fresh pulp of 2 Mangoes or 1 can of mango pulp.
2. 3 Cup yoghurt
3. 1/2 cup Sugar
4. Ice
5. Again, this list is optional... you can select any one of them
A. Ice Cream
B. 1/2 Cup of Chocolate ( Very subtle taste of Lassi )
C. 1 Cup of Milk ( It gives a different smoothish taste, I prefer this )
D. Pinch of Cardamom Powder
E. Honey, Maple Syrup...
F. Rose flavour essence/ Strawberry flavor
I used option C and E together...
Method:
1. Blend Pulp and sugar together in the blender.
2. Add yoghurt, ice and Milk. Blend
3. Pour in the glass, add Honey on top..
Equally good .. Heavenly taste ...!!!
Notes :
1. You can Mix and Match both the drinks according to your taste and choices.
2. Top both the drinks with dry fruits for extra flavour and creamy dessert.
