Idli Bahaar : Colourful treat

Idli is my all time favourite and since my food processor is not working for 3 months now, I am only experimenting with Rava idli and its new forms. My husband doesn't like idli at all so I have to prepare and cherish it on my own. For the past few times, I have been making a specific type of Idli each time like Bottle gourd idli, Sweet idli, Oats Idli etc. This time I thought of making 2-3 types together. It looked so colourful, i had it three days in a row with Sambhar, Rasam and chutney each day. :).. Its so satisfying and filling meal every time I have it.
Try them and let me know which one did you like the best out of these four ?? ... :)

Since I have made idli in batches, the ingredients will vary according to the colour.

Ingredients:
1. 2 cups Idli rava
2. 2 cups beaten yoghurt.
3. 1 piece of ginger
4. 2 tsp salt
5. 1 tsp baking soda
6. 2 green chillies

For Red idlis :
1. 1 tsp red chilli powder
2. 2 large tomatoes, pureed

For Green Idlis:
1. 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
2. 1 cup Spinach pureed

For Yellow Idlis:
1. 1/2 cup yellow corn meal
2. 1 tsp turmeric

For White Idlis:
1. 1 cup ground rolled oats
2. 1 cup chopped coriander

Different batches

I love Date and Tamarind Chutney with Idlis..

Method:
1. Mix curd, salt and rava  together and keep aside for 20 min.
2. Make a paste of garlic and green chillies together and mix with batter. Also add baking soda and give a nice stir so that everything mixes up well.
3. Make four batches out of this batter in separate bowls.
4. In the first bowl, add the pureed tomato and red chilli powder.
5. In the second one, add pureed spinach and cilantro.
6. In the third bowl, add corn meal and turmeric.
7. In the fourth one, add oats and coriander.
8. Now in an idli maker, pour the four batters in separate moulds. Steam for 20 min, first on high flame, then on low flame.
9. Stick them out when cool and enjoy this special treat.

Notes:
1. I have not added any artificial colour to these idlis, you may add them to give richer appearance to them.
2. I have added spices to idlis so that they can be eaten on their own as well, if there is no curry made.

Sending this to Event- Dish name starts with 'I'
